A Psycho-Educational Assessment includes assessment of cognitive abilities and/or intellectual abilities and achievement levels.  It involves investigating possible learning disabilities, screening for attention deficits, BPPD, OCD, Aspergers, anxiety, depression, repressed anger and/or substance abuse, determining personality and learning style and vocational preferences. The fee ($80/hr) covers the assessment (3-8 hrs), scoring and interpretation of data, a written report including recommendations for modification to programming in a school or work setting and a post-conference.  Standardized tests and checklists as well as informal questionnaires are used.   Total assessment/interpretation/ report writing time ranges from 12-14 hrs.  The fee ranges from $1050-1160.  The written report is 18-22 pages, depending on the assessment.

Information is collected re: AD/HD but diagnosis is made by a medical doctor.

An Assessment to Investigate the presence of AD/HD and/or LD is an abbreviated psycho-educational assessment. It investigates the possible presence of an attention deficit disorder including (Inattentive type, Impulsive type, Hyperactive type or Combined type) and possible learning disability.  This assessment could include a cognitive assessment & computer test (3hrs) or computer test only (30 min) with standardized checklists and informal questionnaires as included in a complete psycho-educational assessment. 

If AD/HD or other problems such as repressed anger, anxiety, depression, bipolar personality disorder and/or substance abuse appear to be present, the client is referred to a medical doctor for diagnosis and treatment. Reassessment (30 min) is recommended if the client begins a drug therapy program.  Fee ranges from $240 (without cognitive assessment) to  $640 (with cogni-tive assessment).  Reassessment is $80 (computer test).  A written report (7-12 pages) is provided for both types of assessments.
